Applications are now being accepted for Mississippi's State Loan Repayment Program. All applications must be submitted through the OpenGov grants portal.
Both the Healthcare Professional and the Sponsoring Entity (Practice Site) are required to complete and submit separate applications for a complete submission.
Step 1: Register in OpenGov
- Visit the OpenGov Grants Portal →
- Choose Sign Up to create a new account.
- Enter your email address and create a secure password.
- Verify your email address through the confirmation email sent to your inbox.
- Sign in to your new OpenGov account once registration is complete.
Step 2: Subscribe to the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) Channel
To stay informed about application updates, deadlines, and announcements:
- Sign in to Your new OpenGov account →
- Navigate to the “Subscriptions” or “Follow” section.
- Search for the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH).
- Choose “Subscribe” or “Follow” to receive notifications regarding funding opportunities and updates.
Step 3: Complete Required Applications
Application forms can be found in OpenGov under the project IDs below.
A complete SLRP application requires both of the following submissions:
1. Healthcare Professional Application
- Application Name: Mississippi State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) – Healthcare Professional
- Project ID: 2026-RFA-172
- Completed by: Individual Healthcare Professional
2. Sponsoring Entity (Practice Site) Application
- Application Name: Mississippi State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) – Sponsoring Entity (Practice Site)
- Project ID: 2026-RFA-173
- Completed by: Employer / Practice Site
Important Notes
A complete application consists of both:
- The Healthcare Professional Application
- The Sponsoring Entity (Practice Site) Application
Remember:
- Both applications must be submitted before the application can move forward to the review phase.
- If a Sponsoring Entity has multiple Healthcare Professionals applying, only one Practice Site application is required.
- If a Healthcare Professional works at a satellite clinic or additional practice location, that separate entity must complete its own Practice Site application.
Step 4: Submission and Review
- Ensure that all required fields and supporting documentation are completed in both applications.
- Submit both applications through OpenGov prior to the stated deadline.
- Applications will only proceed to review once both components are received and verified.
