MSDH is offering Community Interpreter training (Medical, Educational and Social Services Interpretation) along with Medical Terminology training to bilingual individuals who are fluent in English.
Community Interpreter training is open to both spoken and sign language interpreters. Topics include:
- Introduction to Community Interpreter
- Interpreting Protocols and Skills
- Strategic Mediation
- Professional Identity
- The Role of the Community Interpreter
Textbooks and other materials are included in the registration fee. A light breakfast and lunch are included with each day's training.
Fees
Community Interpreter and Medical Terminology: $275, or $200 per person for more than one individual from the same agency or organization.
Community Interpreter only: $200 per person.
Medical Terminology only: $75 per person.
Registration fees are waived for MSDH staff.
Time and Place
This course will be held online in three weekly segments of three days each, starting March 9, 2023.
