Water system officials have notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a boil water alert issued for the City of Florence.
Customers affected: This notice affects approximately 305 connections in our drinking water system.

·          Everything west of Mullican Cove and Mullican Rd intersection

      From the intersection Meadows Cove and West Main Street.  Entire W Main.  Includes Shadow Creek Subdivision.  

This is a precautionary notice. This noticed a loss of pressure of in the water system.

The water system will notify residents when the advisory is lifted. Customers may contact their water system at 601.845.3542 for more information.


City of Florence has issued a Boil-Water Alert for customers who receive their drinking water from their water supply located in Rankin County.

When a distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water. Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
