Water system officials have notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a boil water alert issued for the North Lamar Water Association.

Customers affected: This notice affects approximately 100 connections on our drinking water system who live on Howell Road and all adjacent roads.  

This is a precautionary notice.  Residents will be notified by the water system when the advisory is lifted. For more information, customers may contact their water system at 601.264.1157.


North Lamar Water Association has issued a Boil-Water Alert for customers who receive their drinking water from their water supply located in Lamar County.

When a distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water. Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
