Take Down Tobacco - Youth Tobacco Prevention

  [close]

Take Down Tobacco, is the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids' signature platform for empowering people to stand up and speak out against the tobacco industry. The Take Down Tobacco program is a 365-day-a-year effort that culminates every April 1 with the Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action. Please visit the Take Down Tobacco website for activities and resources.

The problem

Tobacco marketing is aimed at creating new, lifelong smokers among young people. While youth tobacco use is declining, tobacco companies are successfully creating thousands of new young smokers a day.

Vaping (e-cigarette use) has brought an epidemic of nicotine addiction in the United States, and the main users are young people.

What you can do

Understand the risks of smoking and vaping for teens.

Take action to prevent or stop smoking and vaping.
