abies continues to be identified in domestic and wild animals in the states that border Mississippi. Rabies was has not been identified in a Mississippi land animal such as a dog, cat, raccoon or fox since 1965. Mississippi continues to see at least two rabid bats on an annual basis — evidence that rabies is present in the state.
